First-round draft pick Ryan Suzuki signed a deal with the Carolina Hurricanes this week.
The Barrie Colts forward, who was selected 28th overall at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, has inked a three-year entry-level deal worth $925,000 per season.
According to the team, the contract includes $277,500 in signing bonuses.
"It all happened pretty quick. It feels like just yesterday I was selected," Suzuki told CarolinaHurricanes.com. "It's been pretty special for me."
Suzuki, an 18-year-old native of London, Ont., is entering his third season with the Colts.
Last season with the Colts, Suzuki had 25 goals and 50 assists in 65 games. He is a former first-overall pick in the OHL draft.
