The Georgian Grizzlies women’s golf team competed this week at the 2019 PING CCAA Golf National Championships hosted at the Continental Golf Club in Ste.-Victoire Sorel, Que.

The event brought together the top collegiate golfers from across Canada to compete for the championship.

Unfortunately, weather played a role as the event was shortened from four rounds down to three after Thursday’s round was cancelled due to wet and rainy conditions.

Georgian’s Rachael Rier had a solid outing finishing in the top 10 with an eighth place finish.  The Hanover native had rounds of 79, 77 and 85 to finish +25 for the tournament.

Teammate Kristen Butterfield (Brantford) finished strong at the tournament posting rounds of 92, 81 and 82 to finish in 16th place overall.

As a duo, the team finished just outside of earning a medal in fourth place overall, just eight strokes back of the bronze medalists.

You can see the full results from the event by visiting the Golf Canada website.
