Eastview, Barrie North will meet again for SCAA trophy (18 photos)

Eastview hammers Collingwood in a 50-0 shutout, while Barrie North advances with a 35-6 victory over Bear Creek

They call these fall sports, but it was anything but for high school football players today.

The Simcoe County Athletic Association (SCAA) hosted a pair of senior football playoff games Friday in Barrie, with the winners punching their tickets to next week's SCAA title game.

The Collingwood Fighting Owls (3-3) were in the city to face the undefeated Eastview Wildcats (6-0) at J.C. Massie Field at Georgian College. The Wildcats walloped the visitors, 50-0.

In the other game, the defending champion Barrie North Vikings (5-1) hosted the Bear Creek Kodiaks (4-2) from the city's south end. The Vikings sailed to a 35-6 victory in that game.

With the semifinal winners now decided, the Wildcats and Vikings will meet again in the SCAA championship game, a rematch of last year's tilt.

This year's championship game will be played on Nov. 7 at 2 p.m., at J.C. Massie Field.

The SCAA champion advances to the Georgian Bay Secondary School Association (GBSSA) title game against the St. Joan of Arc Knights, the champions from the Catholic School Athletics of Simcoe County (CSASC).

The GBSSA title game will be played on Nov. 14 at J.C. Massie Field in another 2 p.m. kickoff.

Meanwhile, in SCAA junior action this week, Bear Creek fell 22-21 to Collingwood, while Innisfil's Nantyr Shores defeated Eastview, 27-6.

The SCAA junior final, between Collingwood and Nantyr, will be played Nov. 7, followed by the GBSSA championship game on Nov. 13.

In junior football action at the Catholic board, St. Peter's beat St. Theresa's, 22-20, in one semifinal game. St. Joan of Arc will play St. Joseph's in the other semifinal game on Monday afternoon.

The CSASC junior final is set for Friday, Nov. 8 at J.C. Massie Field.

The junior GBSSA 'AA' championship game will be played Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m., followed by the 'AAA' title game at 3 p.m.
