Barrie Karate students kick up success on world stage

Barrie Karate was the only Canadian dojo represented at tournament that was conducted through video submissions

A few of our students recently competed in an international karate competition through video submissions.

The tournament was for kata competition and was sanctioned by the Japan Karate Federation.

The name was E Open Okumachi Dojo Cup 2022 Japan, and this competition was open to competitors from around the world on Nov. 12, 2022.

Barrie Karate was the only Canadian dojo represented.

Junior intermediate

Jeremiah Flowers, fifth

Leana Apro, fourth

Benjamin Beiu, seventh

Nina Balakumaran, eighth

Teenage and adult non-black belts
