The IOOF Seniors Homes Inc. is pleased to announce the return of the 17th annual Young at Heart Motorcycle Ride, and are thrilled to welcome back our riders and sponsors in-person.

This year’s Young at Heart Ride will be hosted by location sponsor – Barrie Harley-Davidson (311 Bryne Dr., Barrie) on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 in support of the IOOF’s redevelopment campaign.

Since 2006, this wonderful motorcycle ride has raised over $240,000 for the IOOF and local seniors.

The IOOF has recently embarked on a $42-million redevelopment capital project, the largest in the IOOF’s history, and the launch of a $1.2-million fundraising campaign to expand the facility (10 Brooks St., Barrie) to a 226-bed long-term care home. This transformative revitalization will create 64 new long-term care beds and 66 upgraded beds, modern spaces, updated equipment, private rooms, and increased square footage.

Registration fee is $50 to participate, and pre-registration is required. Riders are encouraged to collect pledges, 100 per cent of the profits will benefit the IOOF’s redevelopment campaign.

The 2022 event will feature a 2 hour country ride, celebratory parade through the IOOF grounds for residents, a delicious lunch, raffle prizes, and more! To register: visit this site or call 705-728-2389 ext. 322.

“We are truly excited to be hosting this year’s Ride at Barrie Harley-Davidson, and can’t wait to see all riders return to such an important event for our local seniors. We have been a long-time supporter and participant of the IOOF’s Ride, and understand the urgent need to provide enhanced care to seniors in our community. We hope other businesses join us by supporting the essential work of the IOOF and their residents,” Kate Insley, owner and chief operating officer, Barrie Harley-Davidson.

Sponsorship opportunities are available and include a comprehensive recognition benefits package.
