There are only three more days to vote in this year’s 2018 Municipal Election. Advanced polls are open today from 1 to 8 p.m. and tomorrow and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 22 is the final voting day with polls open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Barrie residents can vote at any of the 20 locations:

  • Allandale Recre​ation Centre (190 Bayview Dr.)
  • Bayfield Mall (320 Bayfield St.)
  • City Hall (70 Collier St.)
  • Covenant Christian Reformed Church (101 Ardagh Rd.)
  • Dorian Parker Centre (227 Sunnidale Rd.)
  • East Bayfield Community Centre (80 Livingstone St. E.)
  • Ferris Lane Community Church of the Nazarene       (49 Ferris Lane)
  • First Baptist Church (550 Grove St. E.)
  • Hi Way Pentecostal Church (50 Anne St. N.)
  • Holly Community Centre (171 Mapleton Ave.)
  • Hyde Park Public School (72 The Queensway)
  • Lampman Lane Community Centre (59 Lampman Lane)
  • Life Church Barrie (211 Marsellus Dr.)
  • Northwest Barrie United Church         (464 Ferndale Dr. N.)
  • Painswick Library (48 Dean Ave.)
  • Parkview Centre for Seniors (189 Blake St.)
  • Southshore Community Centre (205 Lakeshore Dr.)
  • St. Catherine of Siena School (111 Summerset Dr.)
  • Surface Water Treatment Plant (SWTP)         (20 Royal Parkside Dr.)
  • Tollendale Village (274 Hurst Dr.​)

So far in Barrie, approximately 7100 residents have voted in advance polls (roughly 8% voter turnout). Just over 735 of those residents voted on the new popular vote bus which stopped at 15 locations over five days.

Residents are encouraged to check if they’re on the Voters’ List before heading to the polls by:

  • Going to barrie.ca/VoterLookup
  • Calling 705-728-VOTE (8683) from Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 4:30 p.m.
  • Visiting 1st floor City Hall (70 Collier Street) Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Additions or changes to the Voters' List are permitted up to and including final voting day (Oct. 22, 2018).

Election Results

All votes are counted electronically on October 22, 2018. Unofficial result will be posted on the City’s social media channels (@cityofbarrie on Facebook and Twitter) and www.barrie.ca/ElectionResults as they are received. Official results will be available later in the week. The Council Chamber will be open on the evening of Oct. 22 for anyone who wishes to gather to see results reported on the overhead screen.
