GEORGIAN COLLEGE

Four Georgian degrees will be designated “honours”, following a decision by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

Two of the degrees are new programs being offered beginning in fall 2016 – the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Management and Leadership); and the Honours Bachelor of Interior Design.

Also now reclassified are two existing and popular programs, the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Automotive Management); the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Golf Management).

All are offered through the University Partnership Centre at Georgian.

“Georgian’s degrees were rigorously assessed against the standards for honours bachelor’s degrees. The Ministry’s consent to use the title ‘honours’ reflects that these quality standards are met,” said MaryLynn West-Moynes, President and CEO of Georgian College.

“Georgian’s honours bachelor’s degrees combine the historical strengths of colleges in delivering professional curriculum that prepares employment-ready students with the innovative, problem-solving, critical thinking rigour of degree studies,” she said. “The ability of our students to use ‘honours’ as part of their credentials puts them in a strong position to apply for graduate studies, and on equal footing in the workplace with graduates of other four-year degrees in Ontario.”

The world is changing, and students are seeking increasingly flexible options.

Through its unique University Partnership Centre, Georgian provides its own degrees as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees with partner institutions.

The Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Automotive Management) and the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Golf Management) are both well known throughout their respective industries for the high calibre of graduates they produce.

The Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Management and Leadership) and the Honours Bachelor of Interior Design, set to launch this fall at the Barrie Campus, build on the strong reputation that Georgian business and interior design programs have earned in these two fields.
