In response to the extreme heat alert announced today by Environment Canada, the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka’s Health, Fitness & Aquatic Centres will be open and free to the public during normal business hours, as cooling centres for the duration of the alert.

Families can get relief from the heat and access the open swim and gym times.

“Everyone should take precautions during extreme heat alerts”, said Karen Pulla, Vice President of Health, Fitness & Aquatics, YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.

“Take the time to ensure that family, friends and neighbours at risk are alright and take advantage of the free service we’re providing our community in order to stay cool during this time.”

For more information about locations, hours of operation and open swim and gym times, please visit www.ymcaofsimcoemuskoka.ca.

A government-issued photo ID is required for entrance to the YMCA.
