Woman faces stunt driving, impaired charges after Innisfil traffic stop

Police had observed a vehicle driving 50 km/h over the posted speed limit; a 30-year-old Midland woman has been charged

INNISFIL - A 30-year-old Midland woman is charged with stunt driving, speeding and impaired driving after a traffic stop in Innisfil.

On Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 7:50 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer conducting speed enforcement on 7th Line observed a vehicle travelling eastbound in excess of 50 kilometres of the posted speed limit.

After stopping the vehicle, the driver failed a roadside screening device test and was transported to North Division. Her breath tests resulted in readings of double the legal limit.

As a result, a 30-year-old Midland woman was charged with impaired over 80, stunt driving, speeding and open liquor. Her vehicle was impounded for seven days and her licence suspended for 90 days.

She was released with a future court date.
