Woman charged in connection with break-in/purse snatching

ORILLIA – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a break and enter at an Orillia address.

On January 10, 2016 at approximately 6 p.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to a break and enter at a residence on Memorial Avenue in the City of Orillia.

When officers arrived at the scene they were advised that two male suspects had forced their way into the residence and assaulted the female occupant.

The males stole her purse before fleeing in a white, extended cab, Chev 1500, pickup truck with a black tonneau cover and black fenders.

On January 26, 2016 at approximately 2:42 p.m., the Orillia OPP Street Crime Unit arrested a female on Mississaga Street East in relation to this incident.  

The Orillia OPP Crime Unit has charged Erica Varley, 24 years old of Orillia, with forcible entry, robbery and assault. 

She was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing today in Barrie Criminal Court.
