Woman bitten by stray dog in Innisfil

INNISFIL - South Simcoe Police Service is seeking the public's help to locate the owner of a dog after a woman was bitten.

On Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018 around 9:40 p.m., police were called to the area of Innisfil Beach Road and 20 Sideroad. A man and woman told police they were walking their dog when a stray dog attempted to attack their pet. The couple tried to intervene and the woman was bitten as a result. The stray dog then ran off. The dog is described as dark and medium-sized. The woman was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment of minor injuries.

The running at large of animals is prohibited within the town. Be considerate and respect public and pet safety by keeping your dog on a leash.
