Journey with the DeafBlind Ontario Foundation to discover the sights and sounds of three wine-producing countries — Portugal, Spain and Italy — at the third The Finer Senses Tour and Tasting on June 10.

At this virtual tour and tasting experience, a travel expert will guide guests to explore points of interest, people and their culture, in regions known for their wine making. The tour includes rest stops to enjoy wine tastings led by a wine sommelier. Guests will have the unique opportunity to discover their senses and engage in discussion about wine pairings, varietals, and more.

Portugal is the largest cork producer in the world — known for its Douro wine region — where the majority of Port wine is made. We will trek to unforgettable mountain and coastal zones in Spain to sip a selection from a wine region like Ribera del Duero. Finally, we will tour one of the most visited countries in the world. Italy boasts diverse grape varieties and produces the most extensive range of wine styles in Europe.

Prior to the event, three bottles of wine will be delivered to your door for contactless delivery. The Finer Senses will be a fun and casual evening of travel and wine tasting from the comfort of home. Two weeks prior to the event, an online auction will open to event guests and the general public.

“Whether you’re a wine connoisseur, a world traveller, or you’re looking for a fun Friday night, you are invited to an evening that will make a difference for a local non-profit organization, while enjoying a unique tasting experience in your home,” says Susan Manahan, director of development and communications.

DeafBlind Ontario Services provides an array of services to people who are deaf, hard of hearing, non-verbal and deafblind that are customized to each individual’s unique needs, method of communication, and goals to enrich their life.

“The Finer Senses is a great way to bring people together for a good cause, particularly during June’s National Deafblind Awareness Month,” says Manahan.

The Finer Senses, presented by Resident Care Pharmacy and Silver Linings Health Care, is an annual fundraiser for the DeafBlind Ontario Foundation. The foundation raises, invests, and directs funds to DeafBlind Ontario Services to enhance programs, which support the individuals they serve.

This will be a fun and casual evening of travel and wine tasting in the comfort of home. Get your tickets by May 27 at 12 p.m. For more information and registration, please visit www.deafblindontario.com/events/the-finer-senses or call 1-855-340-3267, ext. 233.
