That sudden rush when you meet that certain someone often precedes a procession down the aisle. But for everything to be just right on that special day requires planning. It’s a blessing that the snow is still on the ground, for it means there’s still time to go through all those plans before hearing the birds chirp on the way into the chapel of love.
Well-informed sources tell BarrieToday there are more than 60,000 weddings in Ontario every year, about 750 here in Barrie alone, and the planning process for many of those nuptials can get a boost this Saturday, at this year’s Barrie Wedding Expo at Liberty North on Caplan Avenue.

“If a couple has their heart set on a specific day/weekend in the summer then they may be looking at a year or two. If the couple is flexible and open to alternative dates, locations and service providers then they can plan in a shorter time.”
“There really is no real rule or trend when it comes to wedding attire. Brides and grooms can have the simplest attire or the most elaborate. It really is up to their personal taste and budget."
The Ring's Barrie Wedding Expo offers local brides and grooms a chance to meet some of the area’s favourite wedding vendors to help them plan their weddings, whether this year or beyond, and Warren says that extends to “tuxedos, gowns, flowers, decor, music, invitations, venue, and much more.”
