Vehicle pursuit ends in flat tires and one arrest

ORILLIA, ON - The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested a male after a vehicle pursuit in the City of Orillia.

On October 30, 2015 at approximately 1:45 a.m., Orillia OPP officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Harvey Street before it fled the scene. 

Officers pursued the vehicle down Westmount Ave before deploying a spike belt which flattened all four of the vehicles tires. 

The vehicle continued to drive on its rims before it lost control and entered a ditch on the on ramp to Highway 11. 

The male driver fled the scene but was arrested a short time later in the Westridge area.

Steven Galic, 39-years-old of Innisfil, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police as well as numerous Highway Traffic Act offences.

He was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing in Orillia today.
