Two men charged with vehicle thefts and break-ins

Two Barrie men face multiple charges in connection with vehicle thefts and break-ins that happened during September and November. Barrie city police, Barrie and Huronia West OPP are also looking for a third man involved in these crimes.

Two Barrie men face multiple charges in connection with vehicle thefts and break-ins that happened during September and November.

Barrie city police, Barrie and Huronia West OPP are also looking for a third man involved in these crimes.

They are responsible, police say, for stealing numerous vehicles and, while wearing disguises, breaking into several homes to steal property.

These crimes took place in Springwater and Oro-Medonte townships, as well in Barrie, police say.

An 18-year-old Barrie man is charged with seven counts of theft over $5,000, five counts of possession of property obtained by crime, four counts of breaking and entering, two counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of wearing a disguise with the intention of committing a crime.

A 23-year-old Barrie man is charged with three counts of breaking and entering, two counts of wearing a disguise with the intention of committing a crime, one count of theft over $5,000 and one count of theft under $5,000.

Both men remain in police custody.
