Two guys accused of cocaine trafficking

On Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, members of the Barrie Police Street Crime Unit arrested and charged two men with numerous drug offenses. 

Members of the Street Crime Unit had commenced an investigation in regards to drug trafficking, and with the assistance of Uniform Patrol, a vehicle was stopped in the area of Grove and Duckworth Street, in the City of Barrie.

Further investigation revealed the occupants of the vehicle had been in possession of cocaine, exceeding seven ounces, with an estimated street value of $14,500. Investigators also seized the vehicle that had been driven, which had been utilized to transport illegal drugs. 

The 20-year-old male from Toronto has been charged with; Trafficking a controlled substance - cocaine, possession of a controlled substance - cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine x2. 

The 25-year-old male from Brampton and has been charged with; Trafficking a controlled substance - cocaine, possession of a controlled substance - cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine x2.

The two men were held in custody for a bail hearing.
