Here are a few tips on how to share the road, and avoid a tragedy.
- Check your mirrors and blind spots for motorcycles before changing lanes
- Use your signals
- When turning left, make sure you have sufficient room to avoid a collision
- Don’t tailgate
Motorcyclists can contribute to road safety as well:
- Be visible, use proper lane positioning
- Drive defensively, never assume you’ve been seen
- Stay within the speed limit
- Wear proper protective clothing
- Never pass between lanes, or off the roadway
