Traffic stop leads to trafficking charge

On January 14, 2016 at approximately 8:50 p.m. members of the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle at Mississaga Street, and McKenzie Street in the city of Orillia.

ORILLIA – On January 14, 2016 at approximately 8:50 p.m. members of the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), working in conjunction with the Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), Orillia Street Crime (SCU), conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle at Mississaga Street, and McKenzie Street in the city of Orillia.

As a result of the traffic stop, an arrest and search of a male resulted in several criminal charges.

  • Jason GETHONS, 36 years old of Orillia has been charged with:
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance – Fentanyl
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance – Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

He was released on a promise to appear in Orillia court on March 8, 2016.
