NEWS RELEASE

CITY OF BARRIE

*************************
On Thursday, March 24 from 3 to 9 p.m. in the City Hall Rotunda, the City of Barrie’s Department of Culture and Downtown Barrie (BIA) will be holding auditions to select the 2016 Street Performers.

The individuals selected will be hired by the City to perform on downtown streets this summer.

The Street Performers program was developed in 2009 as part of the downtown revitalization efforts.

Each year, auditions take place through a juried process and those selected will engage the public with performances throughout the downtown streets this summer.

Auditions are being booked now through the Department of Culture. Interested performers can sign up by calling 705-739-4299 or by emailing [email protected].

Auditions will be between 5 and 7 minutes in length and members of the community are welcome to drop in and enjoy the performances of some of Barrie’s most talented individuals.
