Why is the house needed?

This house will provide a much needed training resource within Barrie to ensure our firefighters can maintain and develop their skills on a regular basis. The ability to train locally is the most effective option available to any fire service.

Will the house be burnt down each time?

No. This house is expected to last for 5 years and will be used multiple times for fire training. The controlled fires inside the house will be contained, causing little to no damage to the structure of the house.
