Two Barrie teens already facing break and enter and mischief charges are now accused of assaulting an elderly woman who lay terrified in her bed.

The 97-year-old victim, who turns 98 this week, was shaken but not physically harmed during the ordeal in which her home was ransacked and vandalized.

The young men, aged 16 and 17, were arrested Friday following what police called the 'disturbing' break and enter at the senior's Sunnidale Road home around 4:45 a.m. Thursday.

Police credited tips and information from the community for making the speedy arrests.

The victim's son said his mom has mobility issues and uses a wheelchair.
