On Thursday, January 28, 2016 shortly before 6 p.m. police received a call from a motorist who had just been struck by a passing vehicle at Mapleview Drive East and the Highway 400 Northbound ramp.

The vehicle immediately left the scene of the accident without speaking to the caller.

Shortly after 6 p.m. the suspect vehicle struck a second vehicle on Dunlop Street West near Hart Drive, fleeing the scene again.

The escaping vehicle sustained a flat tire but continued flight not to have to answer to police.

It did not take long for the vehicle to come to a stop yet again, this time with a snowbank which halted the car for good.

Police arrived on scene when callers thought the driver might be impaired and the male driver was quickly arrested.

He was transported to Barrie Police Service for further testing which registered the male at over triple the legal limit.

The male was also currently under two current driving suspensions.
