Suspect pulling carryon suitcase sought in poppy box theft

The Barrie Police Service is seeking the public's assistance with identifying a male suspect following a theft from Anne’s Variety which is located at 68 Dunlop Street West, City of Barrie.

On Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at approximately 10 p.m., video surveillance captured a male suspect removing the Poppy donation box as well as a Canadian Cancer Society donation box off of the counter and concealing them in a rolling suitcase.

He had provided the employee with invalid lottery tickets for distraction and once the donation boxes were concealed, he exited the store immediately.

The investigation is ongoing and Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the wanted male.

The suspect is described as:

Male, white
Approximately mid to late 20’s
medium build
short brown hair, clean shaven

Clothing:

Dark grey sweater
Dark coloured pants
Black backpack with Adidas symbol (or similar)
Carry on size pull suitcase
