On October 30, Barrie Central Collegiate (BCC) students and teachers, along with Barrie firefighters, will join together to fundraise for children who have been affected by cancer.

Special guest, MPP Ann Hogarth will also give a speech and donation for the cause.

Teams will ride stationary bikes to fun and encouraging music while wearing group costumes.

The Inside Ride is an event dedicated to raising awareness and funds to childhood cancer survivors.

Donations will support the Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation, which helps improve the survival rate and quality of life of children and their families who are impacted by cancer.

“We have 40 amazing and dedicated students helping organize this event,” said Jill Lapenskie, BCC Teacher-Librarian and event coordinator. “It’s an incredible way to fundraise, boost school spirit and encourage physical activity.”

Barrie Central has 23 student teams, four teacher teams, and one team of Barrie firefighters.

The event will begin at 10:20 a.m. in the school gym, located at 125 Dunlop St. W. in Barrie.
