Stolen vehicle found driving around Barrie

Barrie Police received a call for a stolen vehicle that had been stolen from Clintar Grounds Keeping Service in the late afternoon and then later when the car was located with the thief inside.

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 at 3:20 p.m. employees of Clintar Ground Keeping Services were moving vehicles around the yard of the business located at 90 Hooper Road, in the City of Barrie.

At this time the keys were left in the vehicle as other equipment was tended to. Video surveillance showed a female enter the grounds and jump in the 2014 Toyota Corolla that had a full, bright green vehicle wrapping for the Clintar business. She left the yard and was last seen heading west bound on Hooper Street. 

At 4:52 p.m. Barrie Police received a call that the vehicle had been spotted at Yonge Street and Burton Avenue in the City of Barrie. Police attended the area and located the complainant and car with a female driving at Yonge Street and Huronia Road. 

The 29-year-old female of no fixed address was charged with theft over $5,000. 

It was learned she had been released on a recognizance from court on two separate incidents on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 and Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 therefore she was held for bail court to answer to her new charge.
