Stolen car found rolled over in wooded area, suspect arrested

(Innisfil, ON)   A 19-year-old Alliston man is facing numerous charges including dangerous driving and theft of motor vehicles after a stolen car crashed in Innisfil.

Police were called to 5th Line. between Highway 11 and 10th Sideroad on Monday, August 13, 2018 around 6:30 a.m. for a report of a single vehicle collision.

When officers arrived, they discovered a car that had rolled over in a forested area was one of two vehicles stolen from driveways during the night at homes in Innisfil.  The driver was arrested on scene and transported to the North Division.  He had minor injuries and had received medical attention by paramedics on the scene.

The man is charged with:
  • 2 counts Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • 2 counts Property Obtained by Crime
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • 3 counts Prowl by Night
  • Assault

South Simcoe Police Service is reminding residents to always lock your vehicles, even while in the driveway.  Never leave keys or valuables in your vehicle or ensure valuables are in the trunk or out of view. Don't leave keys hanging inside the door of your house, especially if they can be seen from outside.
