Today until 6 p.m., you can give to the Shoebox Project for Shelters in support of women misplaced from their homes. Get a decorative shoe box or fancy one up yourself and fill it with items that a woman would love to see when she opens it on Christmas morning.

Shannon Murree is the Simcoe County and Simcoe Grey coordinator and will be in the Barrie City Hall Rotunda at 70 Collier St. all afternoon to accept boxes.

You can also sign up to be part of the Shoebox Project team and help this great cause.

The partnering shelters and organizations that will be benefitting from this cause are Barrie Women and Children's Shelter, CMHC - Mental Health Association, Couchiching Jubilee House, Elizabeth Frye, Huronia Transitional Housing, Lighthouse, Barrie Native Friendship Centre, Rosewood and Youth Haven.

For more information about the campaign as well as what items are ideal for giving, check out the website.
