On April 26, staff and students at Lake Simcoe Public School in Innisfil will support Young Adult Cancer Canada as they participate in the Shave for the Brave. Seventy students, parents/guardians, family members and staff are donating their hair for wigs or shaving their heads entirely.

The school has set an overall goal of $15,000 for the event. If they reach that goal, two staff members – Principal Jennifer Henderson and Designated Early Childhood Educator Jennifer Roos – will shave their heads in support.

The Shave for the Brave is an annual event that runs in schools, offices, communities and hair salons across Canada. It is the primary fundraiser for Young Adult Cancer Canada, whose mission is to provide support to young adults as they live with, through and beyond cancer.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. and is open to members of the Lake Simcoe PS community. Lake Simcoe PS is located at 1701 Webster Blvd. in Innisfil.
