INNISFIL – In a tremendous showing of support, sponsors and guests attending the Spirit of the Community Dinner and Auction last night raised an impressive $124,000 for the Innisfil Community Grant Program.

“We are delighted and touched by this extraordinary outpouring of generosity from all these organizations, businesses and individuals from the community,” said Innisfil Mayor Gord Wauchope. “These funds will go towards supporting our local schools, sports clubs, charities, non-profit organizations and numerous other grassroots initiatives.”

The Spirit of the Community Dinner and Auction was held at the dazzling Innisfil ideaLAB & Library (967 Innisfil Beach Road). Highlights of the night included a live auction, creative buskers, and the screening of a special film showcasing how the fund has improved life for students attending Sunnybrae Public School.

The funds raised will be awarded next year to groups and organizations who apply to the Innisfil Community Grant Program. Applications are reviewed and grants are awarded by the Town’s Grant Review Committee. Information about how to apply can be found on the Town’s website.
