Over the weekend a Barrie resident reported seeing a large python-like snake on a roof of a Dalton Street residence.
Police and animal control attended and captured the reptile.
Police were unable to locate the owner of the snake; therefore it was turned over to a reptile rescue.
Python and Boa snakes are prohibited animals within the City of Barrie.
The City of Barrie does not permit anyone to own/harbour/possess/keep/sell/offer for sale an exotic animal.
If anyone is caught contravening this by-law they could face a $490.
