Barrie Police Service is looking for the public's assistance in identifying a male who attempted to steal multiple items from Canadian Tire located at 320 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie.

On Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 12:04 p.m. a male entered the Canadian Tire and selected multiple items, paying for them, exiting the store and loading them in his vehicle.

The male then re-entered the store with his receipt in hand and selected the same items he previously purchased.

He was seen on video opening the box of a Dewalt Compact Drill and approaching the Customer Service counter to speak to an employee.

The employee stated the male wanted to make a note the drill he purchased had an open box and that he could still return it if necessary.

After the note was made, the male attempted to leave the store with all his merchandise in-hand which he hadn't yet pay for.

When stopped by loss prevention he provided the receipt from his previous purchase trying to say he had paid for the items.

Loss prevention advised him he was under arrest and he dropped all his goods and fled the store. The male was last seen leaving in a black, Honda SUV.
