Slow driver arrested for impaired

ORO-MEDONTE – On Saturday November 7, 2015 at 4:30 p.m., officers from the Barrie detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a motorist with a drinking and driving offence after receiving a traffic complaint.

A member of the public reported a silver Audi A4 traveling northbound on highway 11 in Oro-Medonte Township.

The vehicle was reported to be weaving all over the road and at times traveling below the posted speed limit. 

58-year-old Robert BEWELL of Oro-Medonte Township was charged Drive Motor Vehicle Over 80 milligrams of alcohol.      

His licence was suspended for a period of 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) program and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days. He is scheduled to appear at the Provincial court in Barrie.
