Single vehicle crash sends three to hospital

SEVERN TOWNSHIP – On Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at 4:29 a.m. the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Sturgeon Bay Road in Severn Township with reports of a single motor vehicle collision.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle left the roadway and rolled onto its roof in the ditch, and one female was found lying on the side of the road.

The other people inside the vehicle needed to be extricated by Severn Fire department along with Simcoe Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

All 3 persons were then transported to an area hospital by Simcoe EMS with serious but non-life threatening injuries. OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) were on Scene and assisted with the investigation.

The collision is still under investigation no charges have been laid at this time. Further updates will be provided when more information becomes available.
