Update 7:30 a.m. Saturday
On the 29th Day of April 2016, at approximately 9:00pm, the Barrie Police received reports of several shots being fired at 90 Edgehill Drive in Barrie.
Officers responded to the scene, and determined that unknown subjects had fired several shots through a closed door at the occupants inside, striking an adult male twice.
The injured male and his associate were then seen by witnesses to flee the scene in a vehicle.
Believing that the injured male and his associate were the shooters, witnesses advised Police that the vehicle had sped from the scene.
Uniform Patrol officers observed the suspected culprits involved in the shooting driving in the area of Tiffin Street and Innisfil Street and attempted to pull the vehicle over.
The driver of the vehicle then failed to stop for police and engaged officers in a short pursuit, colliding with a utility pole in the area.
The driver then fled the scene and the injured passenger was taken into custody by officers.
Officers then located the driver and took him into custody as well moments later.
The passenger was then transported to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Center Emergency to be treated for his gunshot wounds where he will undergo surgery.
It does not appear that the injuries will be life threatening.
Investigators attended 90 Edgehill Drive and canvassed the residents for witnesses, at which time it was determined that there were at least two suspected persons involved in the shooting.
Police feel that this was a targeted shooting, and that the victim was known to the suspects.

Barrie Police are investigating a shooting at 90 Edgehill Drive.
Police say shots were fired around 9 p.m. Friday inside the building.
Two suspects fled the scene and were located by police at Tiffin and Innisfil Street.
Police say two men have been taken into custody, one with a gunshot wound to the arm.
Officers did not fire any shots.
They say there is no threat to public safety at this time.
There is a large police presence at the complex and several Simcoe County Paramedics vehicles.
