Section of Simcoe St. closing for infrastructure work

Simcoe Street will be closed from Bradford to Toronto streets Oct. 17 until Oct. 28, and again from Oct. 31 until Nov. 4

A section of Simcoe Street in Barrie will be closed beginning later this month for infrastructure work. 

Sierra Excavating Enterprises and its sub-contractors working for the City of Barrie requires require daily lane closures/restrictions/shifts with traffic control personnel present, as required, on Simcoe Street between Bradford Street and Toronto Street, beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 until 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 to install two new access maintenance holes to the existing storm culvert.

Sierra Excavating also requires a full road closure on Simcoe Street between Bradford Street and Toronto Street from Oct. 31 until Nov. 4 to complete work related to the Kidd’s Creek culvert project. Access for residents and businesses within the closure to be maintained and emergency services will have access to respond within the closure, but not to travel through it. Detour routes will be in effect.
