On Sunday, May 2, Seasons Centre held our annual Celebration of Life for participant families. It is our biggest Programming event of the year! This year, it was hosted virtually for a small group of Seasons Centre program participants to honour the lives of their Loved Ones who died since the start of the pandemic.

The Celebration of Life included a candle lighting, speeches from staff, and poems from participants. Many heartfelt, funny, and loving memories of our Loved Ones who have died were shared. This special time provided us with an opportunity to cherish our Loved Ones for who they were, what they taught us, and how they will live on.

“It was unfortunate that we are not able to be together in person to celebrate the lives of our Loved One’s who have died. However, we are so grateful for the opportunity to have spent the afternoon commemorating our Loved Ones virtually. It was powerful to be together even from afar!” – Natasha Manzone

“The celebration of life was so beautiful, thank you to everyone for putting it together. I’m sending you this email because after I finished watching it, I looked outside and there was a dove waiting for my attention. I just wanted to share that with you because it made my heart warm” – Program Participant

If you or someone you know are looking for support following the death of a Loved One, please reach out to our program staff: Natasha Manzone, [email protected] or Danielle Coates, [email protected].

Seasons Centre for Grieving Children provides no – cost, peer to peer support for children, teens, young adults and their caregivers grieving the death of an immediate family member. We rely solely on the generosity of our community to help us continue to heal hearts with hope.
