Santa Claus came to town (22 photos)

And boy did it ever rain

It's clear that in Barrie, love for the Santa Claus Parade far outweighs the weather.

Hundreds of people lined Dunlop Street in the pouring rain Saturday night to watch the annual Christmas spectacle and welcome Santa to our city.

The Jolly Old Elf was heard to say that he thought there were bigger crowds out this year than last.

Spectators huddled under umbrellas and donned rain ponchos and many young ones appeared to actually enjoy the downpour.

A fireworks display capped the day-long Noella event.
