Brian Tamblyn, Liberal candidate for Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte announced today he will be seeking a judicial recount of the federal election held on October 19th.

There were 50,554 total votes cast and after a validation review, Alex Nuttall was decared the winner by 108 votes.

“The numbers were very close and it is important that we achieve a definitive understanding of the results," Tamblyn said. "There were a number of complaints and issues noted on election night that could have resulted in errors in counting. We need clarity for the voters of our riding. That is why I am seeking this recount.”

Tamblyn will meet with Justice Anne Mullins Friday morning who will go over the rules and approach with both parties.

She will then schedule the recount, which could be as early as next week.
