Pritchett happy to be 'the party anthem guy', as long as everyone has fun

Country comes to town in a big way on Feb. 16 when Aaron Pritchett’s Out on the Town tour hits Mavricks Music Hall in downtown Barrie

Country comes to the city in a big way on Feb. 16 when Aaron Pritchett’s Out on the Town tour hits Mavricks Music Hall in downtown Barrie.

The country singer, who is known for his loud and party-style country music, will be rocking the Dunlop Street West concert hall with guests Kira Isabella and David James.

Currently on a tour that see him performing 35 shows in 40 places, Pritchett tells BarrieToday he’s been to Barrie before and thinks the crowd here will be perfect for his style of music.

“Barrie knows how to party, they’re a lively crowd for sure and we love hitting that stage for them,” said Pritchett. “I know when we get going with a song like Let’s Get Rowdy, they get really loud and you can tell they’re just out to have some fun.”

The 48-year-old musician plays a youthful set with fun tunes like Hold My Beer, Dirt Road In ‘Em and Suntan City, but Pritchett has more than 20 years in the ever-changing business and says with the carefree exuberance comes a lot of maturity as well.

“I’ve seen a lot of changes in country music as it has gone from a more traditional sound to a lot of rock and country,” said Pritchett. “But I have also personally gone through changes, too, and personally I take those changes and grow with them.

"I’m more likely to spend a lot of quality time with my family and not focus so much on work like I used to," he added.

The concert starts at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16 and tickets are still available here.

Pritchett says anyone who may be on the fence about coming to the show needs to know it's always a fun night out as he performs his loud, singalong party tunes to what he hopes is a packed house.

“Man, when I get on that stage, it's go time,” said Pritchett. “I’m either in a good mood or a great mood and that determines when we stop, I think. I like my role as the anthem guy, everybody has fun singing along and its more interactive really.”
