Police seize computers in child porn case

On Wednesday, May 18, Barrie Police Service and members with the Ontario Provincial Police Child Sexual Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a southwest Barrie residence. 

The warrant authorized police to review computer data which led detectives to locating files of child pornography.  

The investigation also determined the person responsible for the online activity. 

A 56-year-old Barrie male was arrested and held for a bail hearing. The accused will be facing the following criminal charges: 

  • Possession of Child Pornography X 2

The investigation will now require an examination of computers seized to provide further insight into the accused online activities.

Barrie Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit is a partner within Ontario’s “Provincial Strategy” to protect children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the internet.
