Police seek suspect in assault on St. Vincent Street

Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate a person of interest.

On Thursday, July, 21, just after 9 a.m. police responded to a report of an assault on St. Vincent Street, north of Penetang Street, in the City of Barrie.

The victim had been driving his vehicle on St. Vincent Street when he had an altercation with a male who had been walking his dog.

The argument escalated and the male spit on the driver through his window and fled the area.

Police are investigating as to what transpired prior to the assault and would like to speak with the male.

The person of interest is described as:

  • Male, white
  • Muscular build, approx. 25 yrs.
  • Dark long hair pulled back into a bun, brown facial hair styled into a chin strap and mustache
  • Wearing grey shorts and sunglasses
