Police seek identity of man with backpack

Suspect proceeded to back of the store and removed a Bluetooth speaker from the shelf and allegedly placed it into his backpack

The Barrie Police has recently received video surveillance and are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a male suspect allegedly responsible for a theft at The Source located at 33 Mapleview Drive, West in the City Barrie.

The suspect entered the store just after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016.

He proceeded to the back of the store and allegedly removed a Bluetooth speaker from the shelf and placed it into his backpack.

The suspect fled the store without catching the attention of store employees.

The same male is wanted for a fraud that occurred on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at Mac’s Convenience located at 149 Dunlop Street, East in the City of Barrie.

The Suspect is described as;

  • Male, white
  • Medium build, 5’10 -6’0”
  • 35-40 yrs.
  • Unshaved (light stubble)
  • Wearing a black “Blue Jays” baseball hat, white V-neck t-shirt, blue jeans, black and camo coloured shoes and carrying a dark green backpack
