Police say battered Focus not stolen after all

On Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 Barrie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call about a vehicle involved in a collision southbound on 400 HWY South near Mount St Louis Road. 

It appeared that the Ford Focus was involved in a collision sometime overnight. It was severely damaged and no one was located around it.

When the owner was contacted by Barrie OPP he reported his vehicle stolen. 

However, after investigation it was determined that this was untrue and the 21-year-old male driver from Oro-Medonte Township was charged with Careless Driving and Failing to Report a Collision under the Highway Traffic Act.
