Police looking for tall, heavy-set fence hopper

Barrie Police Service was called to the area of Ferndale Drive South and Essa Road, in the City of Barrie, after a resident reported seeing a suspicious male in the backyard.

On Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 3 p.m. police attended an address on Cityview Circle after a male was spotted in the backyard of a residence. 

The witness saw the male hop the fence but believed he was still in the area when police arrived.

Uniform officers and tactical support officers used a variety of investigative equipment as well as a track with Handler Abofs and K9 Serge was completed but nothing further was found. 

The house the male was spotted lurking around was not entered and nothing was missing or damaged in the yard.

  • Blue & white short sleeve checkered shirt

Barrie Police Service would like to remind residents to lock windows and doors, especially those located at the rear or ground level of your house. 

As well, keep valuables tucked or locked away and out of view from windows and doors. Contact police immediately if you see something or someone suspicious in your area.
