Upon receiving various tips from the public, Barrie Police have arrested a male and female wanted in connection to the theft and fraudulent use of credit cards, shortly after 12 p.m. today.

The 39-year-old male and 38-year-old female from Barrie were also wanted on outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court.

Further investigation in relation to the theft and fraudulent use of credit cards is continuing.

We would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating these suspects so quickly.

Police are seeking the identity of two [people suspected of] utilizing stolen credit cards throughout the city of Barrie.

The suspects had used a credit card which had been stolen from a vehicle on Saturday, October 17, 2015.

Several attempts to purchase items at a convenience store had been declined, which prompted the store employee to contact police.

The investigation is ongoing.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect # 1

Male, white
35-40 years
6’0”, medium build
Clean shaven
Wearing a black hat, black leather jacket and blue jeans

Suspect # 2

Female, white
35-40 years
5’5”, thin build
Brown hair
Wearing a black winter jacket with fur hood, blue jeans and white ADIDAS shoes
