At this time Police have completed their investigation into this incident and determined there is no current threat to the public.
Thank you to the residents of Barrie, specifically those at Terry Fox Elementary School and Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School, who took the opportunity to remind our youth of the importance of safety in our community.

On Wednesday, November 4, 2015 shortly after 9 a.m. a 13-year-old female was walking outside East Bayfield Community Center when she was approached by a male driving a dark grey minivan.
The male exited the vehicle, approached the female grabbing hold of her and attempting to pull her into the vehicle.
A struggle occurred and the female was able to break free to reach safety.
The male is described as:
- Male, white
- Large, muscular build
- Strong odor of cologne
Last seen wearing:
- Blue hooded sweatshirt
- Hood pulled up over his head obscuring his face
- Blue jeans
Vehicle description:
- Dark grey in colour
- Smaller model van
- Dark tinted windows
