Police looking for garbage chute escape artist

INNISFIL - On Sunday, May 15, 2016, just after 9 p.m., a security guard was patrolling the interior of the newly built Canadian Tire store on on Innisfil Beach Road in Alcona. He came across a man in the shipping dock area who claimed to be a cleaner.

As he was being questioned, the suspect dove through the garbage chute and ran away, with the security guard in pursuit.

The suspect made good his escape and police were called. A Canine track resulted in locating some of the items stolen, hidden in a backpack in a tree.

Video surveillance shows the man entering the store, collecting items and placing them by the shipping doors in backpacks.

Photos were obtained, and South Simcoe Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the suspect.

He is described as male, white, 5'6 (168 cm), with a light brown moustache and goatee. He is between 25 and 30 years old.
