March 30 10 a.m. update

Police arrested a 25-year-old Barrie women Tuesday night after receiving numerous tips.

The power of social media led to her identity, and she has now been charged with theft and fraud under $5,000.

The women was release on an appearance notice and will appear in a Barrie court in May.

March 29 original release

On Friday, March 25, 2016, just after 1 p.m. a woman had been caught on video surveillance [allegedly] utilizing a stolen TD Visa card at Tim Hortons located at, 226 Essa Road in the City of Barrie.

The victim had left her wallet on a table inside the restaurant and upon her return it was gone and several transactions had taken place shortly after her wallet was stolen.

The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as;

  • Female, Asian

  • Early 20s

  • Black hair, glasses

  • Wearing a blue sweater and a long green jacket with fur around the hood.
