Police looking for balding, Batman-shirt-wearing suspect after Rona nail gun scam attempt

On Friday, December 18, 2015 at 10:25 a.m. an unknown male entered Rona located at 61 Mapleview Drive East, in the City of Barrie. 

He immediately went to the tool department and selected two nail guns worth over $500.00.

He then attended the Customer Service counter to return them without a receipt where he would receive gift cards for the return. 

Immediately the employee and manager questioned the male’s motives for the return and the surveillance video was reviewed to confirm the male had entered the store with the nail guns. 

The male sensed their apprehension and left the store abandoning the items. 

He was last seen leaving the parking lot in what is believed to be a black Chevrolet Sonic hatchback.

Description:

  • White male
  • Approximately 30 years old
  • 6’4 with average build
  • Short brown hair and balding

Wearing:

  • Grey jacket
  • Batman shirt
  • Black pants
  • Black shoes
