Police investigating string of break-ins, stolen Audi report

On Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 Barrie Police were called to three addresses in the Toronto Street and Dalton Street areas, in the City of Barrie, in regards to break and enters.

It is believed an unknown suspect entered the residences during the day, using their shoulder or body to force in the front or back doors. At this time a variety of jewelry, money and prescription medication has been reported stolen.

On Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 at 6:40 a.m. police received a call after a home owner realized his car had been stolen from the garage of his residence on Owen Street, in the City of Barrie, between 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle is described as a Black 2010 Audi A4 with licence plate BHJX960.

At 8:15 a.m. Barrie Police also received a call for a black sports car that was involved in a fail to remain on Wessenger Drive, in the City of Barrie. 

The vehicle was observed hitting a stationary vehicle parked on the side of the road before fleeing the area. 

The car is believed to have extensive front end damage from the collision. Video surveillance of the area is being sought to confirm identifying details of the vehicle and incident.

Subsequently, at 9:40 a.m. Barrie Police received a call for a break and enter to a residence on O'Shaughnessy Crescent, in the City of Barrie, where it is believed a suspect used their shoulder or body to force the front door to gain entry. 

The suspect was spooked when they realized someone was home and fled the residence before police arrival. 

At this time police are treating each investigation independently but are exploring the possibility that the incidents are connected. 

Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating the stolen black 2010 Audi A4 as well as any information on a black sports car with extensive front end damage, whether that be an Audi or otherwise.
